Italian sweet taralli
These sweet bagels are so easy to make.
I usually enjoy making them with my daughter, so that we can spend a good time together with great results! She has a unique talent for cooking, which shows me every time her passion and commitment.
They taste great and if you keep them in a metal box you can enjoy them all throughout the week, having a good breakfast at hand, maybe sipping a good white tea.
You can choose whether to use white or brown sugar, it depends on your taste. Here is the recipe we made using brown sugar, because we like a more rustic style.
Anyway, the best part is to eat them of course!!
Here is what you need:
- 500 gr. of all-purpose flour 00
- 200 ml of white wine
- 200 ml of sunflower oil (better if organic)
- 2 tablespoons of white sugar or brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder (16g)
- Some sugar to garnish
How to do:
- Preheat the oven to 170°.
- Mix together wine, oil, and sugar in a medium bowl.
- Add the baking powder to the flour and mix them.
- Mix the flour with the wet ingredients, putting a small amount at a time, and stir until a soft, sticky dough is formed.
- Knead on the work surface until the dough gets smooth.
- Give shape to the bagels: roll a bit of dough and give it the typical round shape.
- Dip all the bagels in white or brown sugar and transfer them to the baking sheet.
- Bake the bagels in the oven for approximately 40 minutes, until golden brown.
